Human Nature in a nutshell

So one day nature decides that monkeys aren’t good enough and it wants a monkey that can do stuff more efficiently.

It makes this prototype machine it has been working on, which happens to also be very efficient with resources, and sticks it on a monkey. This is the brain.

Except, it does some of the wiring and forgets a ton. The original code base was small enough that new changes could be made without much overall difference but then came along this massive new system that needs integration everywhere.

You end up with this really good machine that’s attached to something that’s just plainly not really good at much. The two can do a lot together but one without the other is useless. The brain can compose and the body can produce.

But the body is still the body. The part that goes wrong is nature forgets to tell the brain about how the body acts. It first just says “here you go, you can do stuff with this thing” and that’s it. The brain learns that the body is irrational and impulsive.
